Who benefits from the complexity and opacity of the Real Estate market?

It's certainly not the citizens, which is what we all are at the end of the day.

Opacity only benefits the various intermediaries who profit from the lack of transparency and from the numerous inefficiencies of the “system”.

In this article, you can watch the second Ted Talk video I gave on the main stage of SIL - Portugal Real Estate Show and which was entitled “The Power of Transparency: Inside the Mind of a Technological Entrepreneur.”

In the first video, which you can see here, I focused essentially on the problems and asymmetries that the real estate market presents:

- Poor Data Integrity

- 100% paper-based process

- Market based on the asking price of houses similar to ours

- Opaque Due Diligence process that is not secure and very inefficient

- Very unclear laws that lead to an enormous barrier to innovation

- Software from the various stakeholders that do not connect with each other

This second video focuses on the various consequences that this status quo entails for all of us, Portuguese citizens and taxpayers.
